As Toronto’s leading golf performance and therapy centre, our mission is to help you master your swing, revitalise your body and excel on every fairway.Â
And while golf is a game of precision, for many first time clients that visit us, it can be a game of pain.Â
Our founder, Michele Liew, knows this firsthand.Â
After a career-ending injury derailed her own golf journey, Michele channeled her frustration into expertise, blending biomechanics, athletic therapy, and 3D technology to transform how golfers move and play.
With 12 years of experience and graduate research at the University of Florida focusing on movement patterns and injury risks in golfers, Michele has built Swing Lab into a hub for injury prevention and recovery.Â
Our friends a Sportsbox 3D Golf interviewed Michele to find out more about the Swing Lab business and how she and her team connect the dots between body mechanics and swing performance, helping clients move better both on and off the course.
Our team uses 3D motion analysis as part of our baseline assessment to identify how clients utilize their bodies in the golf swing.
Using SportsboxAIÂ Studio is very beneficial for both us and our clients to track their movement changes and progression as we work on improving their physical limitations. It not only helps track progression but also provides feedback to the client as they practice to make sure they are working on the right things.Â
Having both slow motion 2D video and 3D motion analysis makes it easier for clients to visualize and understand what they are doing and how they are moving in the golf swing. By adding trackers to the captures, clients can then track and make sure they are working on the right things as we progress through the process.
Swing Lab started using SportsboxAI in 2022 and have had the Sportsbox Studio set up since last February. It’s been very helpful for us and our clients as it streamlines the process and maintains all their capture records. This makes it easy to go back and compare their movement changes and shows clients their progression.Â
SportsboxAI’s support has been great as well, and with continuous updates & additional features in the software, it’s very useful when working with clients on their body movements.
